Setup Checklist and Admin Settings

The Setup page walks you through getting your Forge account ready. Work through the sections in order; green means done and amber means action needed. Each section links to the settings page where you make the change. Use Refresh to reload the status.

Setup sections

SectionWhat it covers
Salesforce ConnectionShows your connected Org and whether it is a Sandbox or Production environment. Manage Salesforce connection opens the org settings page.
Required AppsForge depends on the Blackthorn Events, Base and Payments apps being installed in your Salesforce org. Review installed apps opens the org settings page.
Users & PermissionsLists the Admin and Planner roles, plus Custom, which is not yet generally available, and the current users. Explains how your Salesforce profiles and permission sets map to Forge roles, with a link to the Roles & Access guide. Invite users adds team members and assigns roles. Each user signs in with their own Salesforce credentials, so field-level security and record access apply per user.
Email DomainShows the domain status. DNS (CNAME) changes typically take 24-48 hours to propagate. Forge does not use Salesforce org-wide email addresses; if you use Marketing Cloud you can skip this step, otherwise make sure the same message is not also sent from Salesforce. Configure email settings covers domain verification, from address and tracking.
From AddressShows whether a default sender address is configured. It is required before sending any emails.
Payment GatewayShows whether a payment provider is Connected or Not connected. Manage payment gateways opens gateway settings.
Portal AccessConfirms the Speaker Portal and Sponsor Portal are available. Portal invitations are generated from an event's speaker or sponsor list; magic links expire after 60 minutes and sessions last 7 days.
Beacon AI AgentBeacon is an AI agent that helps planners manage events in natural language. It needs its own Salesforce authorization, separate from the Forge connection. Use Authorize to start it.

Admin Settings

The Admin Settings page holds org-wide feature controls that apply to all users in your organization. Under Org Settings there are two switches:

  • Disable Communications: hides Communications from all event pages. Use it when your org manages email through a separate system.
  • Disable Audiences: hides the global Audiences feature from all users in this org.

These switches affect everyone in the org, not just you.
