Email Settings, Brand and Journeys

Email settings is where an admin turns on outbound email for the org. It opens with a readiness card that tells you the next step, such as Set your sender, Finish domain setup or Send a test email. Once everything is done it says "You're ready to send".

Setup steps

  1. Sender identity: enter From name, From address and an optional Reply-to address, then Save. Reply-to is marked Coming soon.
  2. Domain & DNS: set the sending domain, choose Register, add the DNS records it shows at your DNS provider, then choose Verify DNS. Records can take up to 48 hours to propagate. Send to IT creates ready-to-copy instructions for whoever manages DNS.
  3. Add additional senders (optional): add a From address with an optional display name, label and reply-to. Each sender shows Verified, Pending or Revoked.
  4. Send a test email: enter a recipient and choose a From address. Skip test email is available.

Addresses has a Bounce address, an Unsubscribe redirect and a link to Manage suppression list. Addresses on the suppression list never receive email.

Pause all sending stops all outbound email at once. Queued emails are held, not dropped, and send when you resume. Attendees receive no confirmations, reminders or campaigns while paused.

Advanced settings holds Salesforce logging and emergency controls and is usually configured by your Salesforce admin.

Brand Settings

Brand Settings, linked from the top of Email settings, sets your organization's logo, colors and font as a brand kit. It applies to all email template previews and new templates. A live preview updates as you edit, and you can pick a template and sample data to see your brand in context. Unsaved changes are flagged, and saving shows "Brand kit saved".

Lifecycle Journeys

Lifecycle Journeys automates email sequences triggered by an event changing status. There is a section for each trigger: Event Published (Draft to Published), Event Started (Published to In Progress), Event Completed (In Progress to Completed) and Event Cancelled (Any to Cancelled).

  • Choose Add under a trigger to create a journey with a template and an audience: All Attendees, Speakers, Sponsors or a Custom Segment.
  • A journey can have steps. Each step has a template (or inherits the journey's), a delay in minutes after the previous step and an optional subject override.
  • Journeys can be enabled or disabled and show Active or Paused. Preview shows a preview of the journey, and Execution history lists past runs.
  • A journey flagged Missing (template) or Missing segment will not send.

Email Metrics

Email Metrics shows email delivery activity for a chosen window (30 days by default), optionally filtered by Job and Subuser. Cards show Processed, Delivered, Opens, Clicks, hard and soft bounces, Dropped, Spam Reports and Unsubscribes. Below are a Timeline, Summary, Anomaly alerts for delivery drops and bounce, open or click spikes, a Job drilldown and Email DNS monitoring of sending and tracking domain verification. Download CSV and Compliance Export save the data.
