Contact Matching and Navigation

These admin pages control how registrations link to Salesforce Accounts and Contacts, and how those records appear in navigation.

Relationship Settings

Relationship Settings control how Forge matches attendees to Salesforce Contacts and Accounts during registration. Each Event Settings record links to one Relationship Settings record. The list shows Name, Relationship Rule, Match Records and Create Rule, with a Default or Non-default label. Click a row to see details and the linked Event Settings, or delete it (a confirmation warns this cannot be undone and permanently deletes it from Salesforce).

Create a Relationship Settings record

  1. Choose New Relationship Settings to open the creation steps: Name, Matching & Creation, Contact Resolution, Record Types, Defaults, Review.
  2. Name: a label to find the record later. It is not sent to Salesforce as data.
  3. Matching & Creation: set the Relationship Rule, Match Records (Account, Contact and/or Lead) and Create Rule.
  4. Contact Resolution: set the Contact Account Rule for unmatched new Contacts. Contact Bucket Account is only used when the rule is set to Bucket Account.
  5. Record Types: optionally enter the exact Account, Contact and Lead Record Type names as shown in Salesforce; leave blank to use the org default.
  6. Defaults: turn on Default to use this record when no other applies to an attendee.
  7. Review: confirm your choices (Edit jumps back to a step), then create.

Duplicate & Matching Rules

This page lists the Salesforce Duplicate Rules and Matching Rules configured for Account, Contact and Lead, with each rule's Name and Status (Active or Inactive). It is a read-only view; configure the rules themselves in Salesforce so they align with your Relationship Settings, and make sure matching covers Person Accounts if you use them.

If the rules cannot be loaded, reconnect Salesforce or confirm your integration user has the View Setup and Configuration permission. If Salesforce reports the rules as unavailable, Duplicate Management is likely not enabled in Salesforce Setup; ask your Salesforce admin.

Account & Contact Navigation

Choose how Accounts and Contacts appear in the Forge navigation, then Save:

OptionEffect
Auto-detect (Recommended)Always shows Accounts & Contacts; Person Accounts appear automatically when detected in your org.
Accounts & ContactsShows separate Accounts and Contacts items.
Person Accounts onlyShows only Person Accounts and hides separate Accounts and Contacts.
All (Accounts, Contacts & Person Accounts)Shows all three.

Person Accounts options require Person Accounts to be enabled in the connected Salesforce org; otherwise only the default mode is available.
